99-year-old Just Broke A World Swimming Record
The Australian swimmer George Carons was 99 who set a new record by completing the 50-metre freestyle swim in 56.12 seconds, at the Commonwealth Games swimming trials on the Gold Coast. This Swimming competition was held between the age group of 100-104. Earlier, the same was set by British swimmer Smyrna John Harrison in 2004 with a time of 1.31 in 5o meters.
He first started swimming while attending primary school in Charleville, and continued to swim in high school and university, before taking about six decades off.
